When your products light up parks, festivals, and outdoor venues across the U.S., every detail counts, especially behind the scenes. For Epic Outdoor Cinema (EOC), a leader in inflatable projection screens, Odoo became the platform that unified their operations and elevated their customer and dealer experience.
Founded over 15 years ago, Epic Outdoor Cinema began as Epic Outdoor Entertainment and officially relaunched in 2014 under CEO Nick Toutoungi. What started as a company that provided outdoor movie events evolved into a manufacturer of premium, commercial-grade inflatable screens and plug-and-play consoles, including speakers, projectors, and everything needed for a full outdoor cinema experience.

Driving Epic Outdoor Cinema’s growth is Nick Toutoungi, a live production veteran with over 25 years of experience. From creating the Wall Street Journal-featured Maroone Moonlight Outdoor Movie Series to producing 3,000+ outdoor events with Twilight Features, Nick has built a reputation for innovation and execution. Since acquiring EPIC in 2014, he has tripled production, launched 10 new screen models, and expanded the brand to iconic locations across the globe.
Today, EOC serves a diverse clientele: hospitality and entertainment venues, parks and recreation departments, and municipalities. Their unique offerings, such as sealed-air screens that don’t require constant air blowing, have positioned them as the go-to supplier for high-quality, energy-efficient outdoor cinema solutions.
"We’re unmatched in the industry for quality and performance. All of our screens are commercial grade, they float, and they’re sealed air, once they’re inflated, you don’t need constant noise or energy running."

The Challenge: Disconnected Tools and Processes

Before adopting Odoo, EOC’s operations were spread across multiple platforms. Their website ran on WordPress with WooCommerce, accounting was handled in QuickBooks, and email marketing relied on MailChimp. Managing reseller pricing tiers, tax exemptions for municipalities, and credit card fee structures required manual workarounds.
Customization was a major pain point: “We needed a way to customize product sales. We had patchwork solutions for reseller accounts and pricing tiers, but it wasn’t efficient. Everything was in multiple steps and not in real time,” explains Kara.
Even basic operational tasks relied on manual boards and paper, creating inefficiencies that clashed with EOC’s eco-friendly values.
"This also allowed us to save the trees. We’re very eco-friendly here, and Odoo helped us eliminate paper and centralize everything digitally."

One Platform to Connect It All

How did EOC make the leap? The search for an integrated solution led them to Odoo, initially recommended by a trusted contractor. The team evaluated other platforms, including Salesforce, but found them too enterprise-focused and lacking the flexibility EOC needed as a mid-sized manufacturer.
Implementation began in 2022, with the company going fully live by late 2023. The onboarding process involved close collaboration with their internal web and operations teams, ensuring every aspect of their manufacturing and sales pipeline was reflected in the system.
Since adopting Odoo, Epic Outdoor Cinema uses about 70% of the suite, covering everything from CRM and Sales to Inventory, Accounting, Website, Projects, Helpdesk, Email Marketing, and Live Chat.

Here’s how Odoo is making a difference:
Real-Time Inventory & Pricing Adjustments: Odoo’s Inventory and Purchase modules allow EOC to manage components, track fluctuations in material costs, and update pricing instantly, critical in a market impacted by tariffs. “As prices fluctuate, we can adjust our pricing structure in real time. That’s huge for us,” says Kara.
Streamlined Dealer Network Management: Their three-tier dealer network now has access to accurate, role-based pricing in real time via Odoo’s eCommerce integration, replacing a cumbersome, manual process. Dealers can log in, see their cost, and lock in quotes immediately.
Unified Customer Experience: With CRM, Sales, and Website fully integrated, EOC no longer juggles multiple tools. Leads flow directly into their sales pipeline, connected to inventory and accounting, creating what Kara calls a “single pane of glass” for operations.
Project Coordination for Large Orders: For bulk orders spanning months, Odoo’s Project module helps EOC track deliverables, deposits, and customer requirements, like logos and branding, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Enhanced Customer Engagement & Support: Using Helpdesk, Email Marketing, and Live Chat, EOC can respond quickly to customer inquiries and maintain consistent communication, especially during their busy trade show season.
What’s Next for Epic Outdoor Cinema?

EOC’s next chapter is all about innovation and growth. They’re gearing up to launch a new 30ft-wide screen, expanding their product line for larger events and venues.
On the Odoo side, the company plans to:
- Implement Marketing Automation to follow up on quotes nearing expiration.
- Launch eLearning modules for their reseller network, providing training videos and media assets directly through Odoo.
“We’re just scratching the surface. Odoo gives us the foundation to grow without constantly adding more disconnected systems,” says Kara.
Epic Outdoor Cinema’s journey with Odoo shows how a customizable, all-in-one platform can transform operations for manufacturers and distributors alike.
