Established in 2014, TD Food and Beverage (TDFB) is one of Thailand's leading importer and distributor of the finest matcha from Japan. Today, the company proudly serves a 170,000-strong community and local cafes in the country and Southeast Asia with premium-quality tea.
The Challenges
The nine divisions in TDFB used to manage their operations independently on application-specific blockchain, or appchain, to oversee all sales, marketing activities and supply chain management. This led to significant challenges as the company grew:

Interconnected MRP Solution
To guarantee product availability and customer satisfaction, TDFB employs a make-to-stock (MTS) production strategy. With Odoo's integrated MRP applications – Manufacturing and Inventory – the team seamlessly manages the entire matcha production and processing workflow.
When a sales order (SO) is confirmed, TDFB's operations team initiates the process. They create a corresponding bill of materials (BoM) or manufacturing order, detailing the specific type and quantity of matcha to be packaged according to the customer's requirements. Every movement of stock, from raw material to finished product, is accurately tracked and recorded within Odoo Inventory.
Adaptable Quality Control
A dedicated team conducts thorough quality checks on incoming matcha, including assessments of color, aroma, sensory attributes, and microbiology, all managed within the Odoo Quality app. As a verifiable history, the results will be recorded on Odoo, demonstrating due diligence and facilitating necessary investigations or audits.
Approved products are added to the Odoo Inventory list. Odoo’s flexible Unit of Measure (UoM) configuration allows TDFB to manage various weight standards. Reordering rules will be triggered when the stock levels reach the company’s predetermined reorder points, ensuring timely replenishment via Odoo Purchase.
Accurate Inventory Control & Efficient Delivery

The powerful Odoo Inventory app backs all the aforementioned sales and manufacturing activities in the food processing company.
Paired with barcode scanners, the team performs regular stocktakes by scanning the unique barcodes or SKUs on the goods. The inventory levels automatically update, minimizing errors while saving time on manual labor.
Furthermore, the app proves its capabilities by seamlessly supporting over 800 deliveries daily with integration with DHL, UPS and many other couriers. Recipient and delivery details are automatically populated from sales orders, minimizing errors. "Odoo helped us a lot with delivery," says co-founder and CEO Tim. "The system helps us reduce human error in packing and shipping our matcha."
Dynamic Reports & Data-Driven Decisions
Owing to the software's integratedness, TDFB generates a variety of sales and inventory reports in seconds with just a few clicks on Odoo. Notably, Odoo 19 will further enhance this speed by up to 200ms.
In addition to the month-on-month (MoM) and year-on-year (YoY) product performance reports, the sales team utilizes Odoo to generate sales forecasting reports for buy-in insights. On the other hand, the operations team generates inventory valuation and stock aging reports to maintain a healthy stock level, hence the business.
