Orchestrating the Odoo rollout
Open Source Integrators took a tailored approach to meet Strymon’s specific needs. The first step was a thorough review of Strymon’s existing processes and pain points. OSI worked closely with Strymon to define clear goals for a strong Odoo implementation plan.
First and foremost, OSI wanted to focus on building system confidence for Strymon’s team, ensuring that they were both comfortable and proficient in using Odoo as quickly as possible. While migrating to new software can be daunting, Odoo’s intuitive nature empowered Strymon to operate the system easily soon after implementation. Part of what led to this seamless transition was OSI’s intentional sequential module implementation.
The Odoo Partner first installed Accounting, followed by Manufacturing and Warehouse management, in order to create a solid foundation for the company to build upon and ensure accurate financial reporting. OSI also set up a cloud-based, self-hosted Odoo, which helped Strymon balance security and reliability in its new software system. Enabling the Strymon team to achieve a high degree of self-sufficiency after their implementation helped promote long-term value of their Odoo implementation.
This system maintained over 99% uptime, a critical requirement for Strymon’s operations.
Transferring financial and operational data from Strymon’s old system into Odoo was a key challenge. Strymon accounting manager Jake Lawrence worked closely with OSI to ensure the integrity of the company’s accounting data during the data migration.
Given Strymon’s multiple locations and complex production processes, setting up Odoo’s Warehouse and Manufacturing modules required careful planning and customization. One such customization was the development of a specialized Return Management module, crucial for handling Strymon's high-value and precise product requirements.

In general, the company’s production and inventory management processes have been streamlined, reducing the time and resources that were previously wasted on these workflows. Odoo’s Accounting module and its accurate, real-time financial reporting capabilities has enabled better decision-making and financial controls for Strymon’s management team. Furthermore, Odoo’s eCommerce application and return management system have enhanced the customer experience, particularly for the company’s international distributors
