Solution. 💸
Currently, in Odoo, there is a workaround you can use to view accounting reports in a currency different from the database’s main currency. To do this, you need to follow these steps:
1)You should create a new company with the main currency in which you want to see the reports. For this example, we need to see the reports in USD, so we will select this currency as the primary one:
Likewise, you must set up the same fiscal location package in the new company:
2) Enter to the company we just created and go to the accounting module, specifically to the settings:
- Accounting Module -> Configuration -> Settings -> Search for “Currencies”.
- Configure the same information you have in the original company regarding the “automatic currency rates”, that is, the service and the interval. For this example, set the service to “Bank of Mexico” and the interval to “Daily”:
3) To be able to view the report in the alternate currency, you just need to enter the new company in USD and then select the information from the main company:
4) By following these steps, you will be able to see accounting reports in a different currency. For example, a balance sheet:
- In the main company, we will see it in pesos (MXN):
- And by using this workaround, we can view it in dollars (USD) in the alternate company:
We hope this configuration helps you visualize accounting reports in a currency different from the database’s main currency! 😎
